Former Barrackpore MP Arjun Singh expressed regret over his decision to switch from BJP to Trinamool Congress after failing to secure a ticket in the recently announced candidate list. Trinamool revealed its roster of Lok Sabha candidates on Sunday during the brigade forum, where Arjun was present, but Partha Bhowmik was named as the candidate for Barrackpore, leaving Arjun dismayed.
Arjun Singh stated that it was a mistake to transition from BJP to Trinamool, expressing his disappointment after not being nominated as a candidate. He mentioned feeling "stunned" upon learning about the decision and acknowledged protests in his area due to his absence from the candidate list. Despite his dissatisfaction, Arjun congratulated Partha Bhowmik as the Trinamool candidate for Barrackpore and hinted at the possibility of returning to BJP, leaving speculation about his political future.
